Internships for Young Adults and Others

There are a variety of internships available offered the Episcopal Church and related organizations. Please check the websites linked below for more detailed information about each program.

Lilly Summer Discernment Institute

The Lilly Summer Discernment Institute, as a program, was established in 2002 by a grant from the Lilly Endowment, Inc. to the University of the South. The purpose of the program is to develop a new generation of religious and service-oriented leaders through substantive experiences in summer internships.  Positions are stipendiary and require two weeks at The University of the South.  Applications are due February 18, 2008. 

Faithful Citizenship Summer.  Help low-wage workers register to vote and build a movement for social justice. Seminary Summer, a partnership between Interfaith Worker Justice and the AFL-CIO and Change to Win unions, involves 35 to 50 future religious leaders in a ten-week, paid internship program of faith and action.  The first deadline is May 1, 2008.

The Episcopal Public Policy NetworkThe Episcopal Public Policy Network offers the Office of Government Relations Internship Program.  The internship experience will provide interns with a general understanding of Congressional procedure as well as how staff and members of the Episcopal Public Policy Network effectively advocate the positions of the General Convention and Executive Council of the Episcopal Church.  

 The Trinity Volunteer Corps seeks and provides young adults with an 11 month opportunity to live together in an intentional Christian Community while working with local social service agencies in the greater Washington, DC area.  This program is a ministry of Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington, DC.  Application deadline is open.

Sierra Service Project provides life-changing, challenging community service experiences for teenages and young adults.  They offer a variety of exciting programs!
